Christmas Trees: The Light and Ornament Equation
Smart new tools help consumers pick the right amount of ornaments and lights for their Christmas tree. We had gotten so many phone calls from people who had this big tree at home, and they wanted to do all these elaborate decorations, but they had no clue how many ornaments or lights needed to go on that tree
Each Holiday season, millions of Americans dream of making a beautifully decorated Christmas tree the center point of their celebrations. Each season, they are confronted with the same daunting question: How many lights and ornaments do I need to put on my tree to make it look good? Hoping to put an end to the dilemma, Christmas decoration retailer Santa's Quarters developed free online tools, which let consumers calculate the recommended number of ornaments and lights for their tree. According to santasquartersno.com webmaster David Erath, the Ornament and Light Wizards have been a big hit so far with online shoppers.
"We had gotten so many phone calls from people who had this big tree at home, and they wanted to do all these elaborate decorations, but they had no clue how many ornaments or lights needed to go on that tree," said David Erath. The handy new tool calculates the number of ornaments and lights in a split second. Customers enter the height and base width of the tree, and with one click of the mouse are given instant results. The recommended number of ornaments calculated by the Christmas Ornament Wizard is based on an average ornament size of 3.5" and assumes coverage that's not too light, but also not too heavy. The Christmas Light Wizard provides the recommended feet of light string needed, and is based on standard 6" mini light spacing.
Both of the Wizards have been enthusiastically embraced by online shoppers. Reported David Erath, "We get hundreds of people every day who use our Wizards." The new tool is especially valuable for commercial customers who need to decorate giant Christmas trees for public spaces such as cities, hotels, and shopping malls. For decorating with large commercial Christmas ornaments, Santa's Quarters has developed a separate Commercial Ornament Wizard.
The beauty of the tool lies in the fact that it works for both real and artificial Christmas trees. "Our goal is to provide a service that has shoppers worry about one less thing during the busy holiday season. We want them to achieve the results they are looking for in decorating their tree," said Erath.
Santa's Quarters has been the leading source for Christmas decorations for over 30 years, providing customers with a wide choice of Christmas products. Their site, www.santasquartersno.com specializes in residential and commercial Christmas ornaments, Christmas decorations, and artificial Christmas trees for all applications.

Our family tradition for Christmas tree decorations consisted of all the ornaments, lights and garland passed down from generation to generation. When it came to our children, we wanted to start something special and found a great way to let them add their own decorations. Our children were so excited about their letters from Santa that they decorated our tree with them. Every year we continue to adorn our tree with a new letter from Santa. Using the Christmas ornament wizard we just measured the size of the letter from Santa and replaced a few ornaments with it, it came out beautiful and our children are true believers in the magic of Christmas.
Last year our children decided to do something different and surprised us with their thought. They said if Santa was writing all those letters and all the children were as happy as they were, they wanted to thank Santa. Our children started all their friends to send letters to Santa so Santa knew they were all thankful and that they loved him and Rudolph very much.
